This is it.
I wrote this book with love and passion. My hope is to convey several important messages regarding the teenage life on social media since we as teenagers are the very first generation to be exposed to such large amounts of social scrutiny and information.
Section one of the book consisted the physiology of teenagers. As the title suggests this chapter consists of a detailed analysis on the psychology of a teenager. I divided this chapter into five subtopics. The first subtopic is the mentality of a teenager. We are young minds developing into adulthood and if shaped well, can do amazing things in the future. This subtopic talks about how we as teenagers think. The mentality of teenagers shows how teenagers take in information. For example, how will a teenager react to bad news and good news. The way a teenager thinks plays a major role on how they get affected by the social media. The second subtopic was on how a teenager spends their daily time. A teenager from age 13-18 spends about 6-8 hours on social media (“Teens Spend ‘Astounding’ Nine Hours a Day in Front of Screens: Researchers | WVEA”). This means that the chances of getting affected by social media is likely. The third subtopic is what is a teenager’s identity? An identity of a person defines them. A person’s identity is heavily influenced by the world around them. If met with bad experiences, the identity of a person can get affected. The fourth and final subtopic to be covered was how the teenagers of this generation think. The teenagers from different generations were brought up in different ways. This is why I want to share this information with my audience. I also included an element of how corona had affected a teenager’s thinking.
Section two is based on social media. It consisted of four main subtopics. The first subtopic was introducing social media and how social media impacts people and influences different things. The second and third chapters were linked since chapter 2 consisted of the advantages of social media in general and how it influences things whereas the third chapter was based on the negative effects of social media and how it has various negative effects. The fourth chapter would further look into the negatives and specifically its negative effects on teenagers. The chapter looked into cyber bullying, harassment, peer pressure etc.
Section three was based on the social world of teenagers. Chapter 3 was divided into two subtopics. Subtopic 1 was a detailed analysis of the experience of a teenager on social media sites. This is the part of the book where most statistics would come to use. Subtopic two spoke about how this affects a teenager’s daily lifestyle and how it shaped a teenager’s growing mind, inevitably becoming a part of a teenager’s anxiety.
